Called S197 internally, the 5th-generation Mustang launched for 2005 with a heritage-laced design, a new platform, and an available 24-valve V8 engine. Extending the wheelbase gave the Mustang a much more compliant ride than its predecessor. The 2013 Shelby GT500 was the first factory Mustang to achieve a top speed of over 200 mph, and it featured many chassis upgrades and styling revisions introduced during the 2013 model year.
Power comes from a 5.8-liter supercharged V8 engine, rated at 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The modifications increase those figures to 684 horsepower and 684 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, according to the dyno sheet shown in the attached video. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
