Originally launched in 1983, Honda’s CRX became instantly famous for being a fun-handling car that was also economical to own. The second-generation CRX hit the market in 1987 (for the 1988 model year), bringing with it major changes such as double wishbone suspension front and rear, and a redesigned body, while maintaining the CRX’s sub-2200 lb. weight.
Power comes from a turbocharged “B18C1” 1.8-liter inline-4 VTEC engine. The seller reports this CRX produced 408 horsepower at the wheels on a dyno in it’s highest boost setting, and a picture of the dyno results can be seen in the gallery. Output is sent to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
